During your visit a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant will observe a feeding, weigh your newborn and assess his/her intake. After answering all of your questions we will create a customized care plan to help you reach your breastfeeding goals. A detailed report
will be sent to your pediatrician.
At a follow up visit we will reassess newborn weight, intake, and breastfeeding feeding progress. An updated care plan will be provided.
Pregnancy is the best time to learn about breastfeeding, and to begin creating a support network for the journey ahead. A prenatal consult
is a great way to have all of your individual questions answered before the big day arrives.
Prenatal consults are highly recommended for a mom with a history of breast surgery, breastfeeding difficulty and for mothers that have experienced little to no breast growth during pregnancy. Certain hormonal conditions like Polycystic Ovarian Disorder, Diabetis Mellitius, Infertility or Thyroid Disorders place a mother at risk for low milk supply. A comprehensive prenatal assessment and a game plan can help
stop breastfeeding difficulty before it begins. Partners are encouraged to attend.
